Indian Employment Law

Understanding Indian Employment Law and HR Best Practice

This seminar, presented by Ms. Shalini Agarwal, a partner based in the London office of Clasis Law, a full-service Indian law firm, provided an overview of employment law in India, including local practice and procedure, anticipated problem areas, and the cultural implications of doing business in India. Some of the topics included in this seminar were: understanding key Indian employment and labor law legislation, drafting employment contracts and staff handbooks, moving personnel into India, managing employment and immigration matters, and operating for success in an Indian business environment.

Ms. Agarwal advises clients regularly on various aspects of labor law – assisting with staffing issues, terminations, restructuring and advising on employment related documentation. She conducts workshops specifically on Indian employment, advising clients on various legal and practical aspects of dealing with employment and HR issues in the Indian market. Shalini is a frequent speaker at international conferences on various topics of doing business in India.
