Welcome to China: Employment Law, HR Practice and Intellectual Property Challenges You Should Know
Employers who are doing business, or plan to do so, in China learned about three topics of great interest to them: employment law, human resources practice, and the intellectual property legal and practical issues. In this webinar, Sam Li, a partner in Jincheng Tongda & Neal’s Beijing, China, Office, discussed the most recent cases and challenges of employers regarding their intellectual property rights and obligations in China. David Nocek, Human Resources Director of Ashland Chemical Company, provided information regarding Ashland's talent management practices and challenges in the greater China region. Celia Joseph, an attorney with Fisher & Phillips LLP in its Philadelphia Office, described the basics of employment and labor law in China, in particular an update on China’s Employment Contract Law and new provisions pertaining to expatriate employees.
Some of the topics the speakers addressed included employment contracts (such as statutory requirements and limitations of duration); employment termination, trade unions, successful employment practices and the experiences of employers regarding their intellectual property.
